Sweet, Spicy, and Salty Pecans

Trader Joe’s makes these, and now you can too! Try them as a salad mix-in, ice cream topping, or afternoon snack.

Ingredients:

2 cups raw pecan halves

½ cup confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

¾ teaspoon salt

A few shakes of cinnamon

2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the sugar, cayenne, salt, cinnamon, and water together to form a thick paste. Add pecans and stir well to coat.
  3. Dump pecans onto baking sheet and spread them apart from one another (I use a metal spoon for this).
  4. Bake for 10 minutes on the middle rack.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheet for at least 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Storage: When the pecans are completely cool, you can store them in a Tupperware or glass jar for up to 3 weeks.
